I am Sherrele Goloversic, the proud owner of The Book Readers Venue, a remarkable black-owned bookstore nestled in Humble, Texas. As a seasoned reader since the age of 4 and a United States Army Veteran, I’ve devoured countless books, and my TBR pile knows no bounds. Reading is my refuge, a portal to new worlds, a way to unwind amidst life’s chaos. My heart lies with romantic suspense and the allure of a powerful, unyielding female protagonist, and a charming, protective giant who values family above all else.Around 15 years ago, my quest began to find romantic suspense books written by African American authors to diversify my reading repertoire and show support. Tirelessly, I scoured the internet and local bookstores, but my search yielded few results. However, a chance discovery of a book by Brenda Jackson opened doors to a whole new world of independently published authors and invigorating book events. These encounters fueled my passion to support African American authors and increase their visibility. Armed with the desire to share the joy, laughter, and tears that their books bring, I embarked on a journey to open my own bookstore. My goal is to diminish the frustration of searching for their works and to provide everyone with the opportunity to experience the magic I’ve encountered. By championing our authors, bloggers, and book clubs, I aim to inspire the next generation of literary talents. At The Book Readers Venue, we celebrate diversity and embrace the enchanting stories that shape our lives. Come, join our literary community, and let’s embark on exciting adventures together! On a side note: My Love Language is "Acts of Service".Do you know your love language? Words of Affirmations.
